Exciting news for Roleystone Community College Year 9 Film and TV student Ruby Watts, whose short film, ‘Nik's Story’ has been selected as a finalist in the NOVA Employment 2022 Focus On Ability Short Film Awards.

The short documentary has been developed as part of the RADM program and is written, produced, directed, shot and edited by Ruby Watts.

Focus on Ability (FOA) is designed to encourage filmmakers to focus on the ability of people with disability and tell the story on film. This year they’re celebrating 14 years of doing that!

Based in Australia, this year’s FOA Festival Schools section had an amazing 74 finalists from Australia and New Zealand, with over $100,000 in prizes to be shared among the festival winners.

The Focus on Ability Film Festival is for people of all talent levels with many first time film makers taking out major prizes.
