Our Year 2 students in Room 3.4 and 3.5 recently got their hands dirty out in our bush as they tried their hands at creating a Mandala.

Currently these students are learning about natural and manmade resources, so they ventured out into our beautiful nature playground to use the wonderful natural materials we have on our doorstep to create mandalas.

If you don’t know, a mandala is usually a circular object that can represent a search for completeness or self-unity.

Our students had a very enjoyable and thought provoking time collecting a variety of natural objects, which they then had to sort into groups, before the hard work really began, of creating a mandala. They had to choose the things they loved the most out of their haul to build and design the mandala – and the results were amazing!!

Well done Year 2’s – it was a great lesson and good fun!
