COVID-19 didn’t dampen RCC’s celebration of this special week with our students participating in lots of different activities that promoted cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home.

In Room 2.2 during Harmony Week, students read the story, ‘Snail and Turtle Are Friends’. Even though Snail and Turtle are different and like different things, they still enjoy being friends. We made snails and turtles and drew pictures of the things that Snail and Turtle like and something we like.

In Room 3.4, the students created some lovely art work, while a beautiful banner was designed in Room 3.5 to show that everyone belongs in their class.

In Drama (Years 2-6), the students learnt a new way to say hello and created chain links to display in the drama room. They also created thier own "tok" play language based on Thursday Islands Creole language game called Tok.

And in our Indonesian classes, students celebrated Harmony Day by creating a beautiful Harmony Hands art piece.

Another wonderful display here at RCC of the Harmony Week message – ‘Everyone Belongs!’
