Recently at the College a number of our Year 9 students put their tradie hard hats on and got busy building and helped erect a number of new shelters.
The four new picnic tables and seats, complete with a roof, complement a number of tables already in use in our new secondary area, near the Home Ec building.
The students also helped erect a number of seats around an existing tree, outside Block 5.
Newly Appointed Secondary AP, Mike Burns supervised the students selected to take part in the building program which is to help our students take ownership of their own learning environments, in this case to provide new amenities for secondary students and to help connect our transportable classrooms to the whole school student population.
The shelters have been fully funded by our wonderful P & C – just another example of their dedication to support this important program at the College and how pro-active they are to help the program come to fruition.
The shelters also look fantastic and blend beautifully into our bush setting.
RCC thanks the P & C for their continued support and acknowledge our students’ hard work and positive intent in their efforts to get the shelters erected.
They will be very well utilised and also provide a lot more seating all year round.
