On Monday 7 September, RCC Year 4 student Amity Lovett won Third prize in the annual Armadale Young Writers’ Award.
Amity, was one of Fifteen local school aged writers awarded and recognized for their writing excellence, creative expression and ability across a variety of prose entries.
The winners were all awarded cash and voucher prizes.
This year marked the 10th anniversary of the Awards, which are held for students ranging in age from school years 3 to 12, to encourage and recognise the writing creativity of young people across the City.
Amity’s story, Chasing Dreams, is attached along with a list of the 2020 award winners.

All the winning stories have been compiled into an anthology which will be available for loan from the City of Armadale Libraries.
Entry forms for the 2021 competition will be available in May.
RCC is very proud of Amity and congratulates her on her wonderful story and her win in the competition.
We hope she continues to write and never loses the passion for reading and creating.
