Roleystone Community College was the site of a motorist enthusiast dream on Thursday 3 September, when about 18 souped up rally cars descended on the College.

The wacky cars, decorated in splashes of loud colours, and the drivers and navigators dressed up in some very funny and interesting garb, were all revved up and ready for the BulldustNBack Trail, a four-day motoring adventure through WA’s outback, organised and run by the not for profit Rotary Club of Mill Point.

This FUN-raising event gives all monies raised by the trail to children with cancer and to mental health charities based in WA.

BulldustNBack, now in its second year, is held in honour of Jon Lawrance, a longtime Rotarian and respected businessman, who passed away from cancer in 2018.

This year the race route will take participants from Roleystone, south into the Great Southern region to Brookton, travelling off road through gravel forest tracks, and driving through the southern wheat belt.

Roleystone Community College was more than happy to welcome the drivers and navigators, and our wonderful P&C filled them all up with a hearty home cooked breakfast along with bottomless hot coffee and drinks.

Then it was time for the machines to show their mettle – so with much revving, tooting and feet on the pedals, the cars took off, swept out of the College with a flourish by local Darling Range MLA Alyssa Hayden and RCC students cheering from the top of the oval and were sent on their way.

The first stop on this motoring adventure is Collie with an overnight stay, then it’s on to Wagin, Dryandra and Brookton by Sunday before heading home to Perth.

Safe Travels and Good Luck.
