Quenda Cafe News.

It’s official – our new canteen mural looks AMAZING!

Thank you to the brilliant Brenton See, and to Art Teacher Mrs Littlewood and her year 9 and 10 art students, who helped with the design and painted the background.  Also big thanks to the City of Armadale for helping to fund the project, which was organised and co-funded by our wonderful P & C.

The Quenda Cafe is open every day.

In 2020, we updated and improved some of our services, in an effort to reduce wastage and unnecessary costs.

We still offer a lot of tasty over-the-counter snack items for sale at both Lunch 1 and Lunch 2 for students to purchase, but lunch items cannot be ordered over-the-counter.

We will also try to post regularly on the P&C Facebook page, and the RCC Website, to keep parents/caregivers and students up to date.

Congratulations to Vanessa Mamakos, who has recently taken on the Manager’s role.

Not only has the Quenda Cafe been recycling paper, cardboard and soft plastics for ages, our food is also served in a biocane range of environmentally friendly containers, which are made from sugarcane pulp.

This is a concerted effort by the P & C to further reduce our carbon footprint with eco-friendly packaging options, wherever possible.

The new containers are all compostable and are coated with Ingeo™ bioplastic made from plants.

The containers are beige/natural in colour so if any of these containers make their way home, please put them into your compost, or general waste collection bin (except for the clear plastic lids which are recyclable in your yellow bin).

Our next task is to look at more environmentally friendly cutlery options, so stay tuned for future updates.

Thanks for feeding us!

On the last day of Term 4, RCC said goodbye to our two amazing and long-serving canteen staff Tracy and Robyn who have decided 2020 will be their last year with Roleystone Community College.

Tracy has been with us for 14 years and Robyn for 10. An amazing effort ladies, and we can’t thank you enough for all your hard work and fantastic cooking!

We appreciate your efforts over the years, but particularly in 2020 having handled supply shortages, menu changes, and the lockdown.

Thank you Robyn and Tracy and we wish you all the very best for the future.
