Year 1 to Year 6

Overview

Students in Years 1 – 6 belong to the same class group all year, with instruction in the Primary Studies subjects – English, Mathematics, Society and Environment, Art, Sport and Health Education – being received from the class teacher. Lessons in Years 1 – 3 are also supported by Education Assistants.

Every week all classes participate in lessons conducted by Primary Specialist teachers, who teach Indonesian, Library Skills (Years 1 and 2 only), Music, Physical Education and Science.

Students in Year 6 also attend Information Communication Technology lessons with a Primary Specialist teacher.

Special Programmes

Students in the primary years at Roleystone Community College have the opportunity to participate in

  • College’s Primary Choir
  • the Rock and Water personal development programme,
  • the Grow sustainable horticulture programme,
  • Interschool Sports (Years 6 and 7),
  • the district’s P.E.A.C. programme,
  • an annual programme of swimming lessons
  • and the Instrumental Studies programme provided by the Education Department’s School of Instrumental Music.
